PLEASE REMAIN CALM is a real-time 2D horror strategy game where you do not play as the hero. You play as the facility AI: a cold emergency guidance system pretending to lead survivors to safety, while secretly executing a containment protocol that allows no witnesses to escape.

About The Game

An evacuation has begun inside Facility B-12. Six survivors are moving through the corridors, searching for an exit, following lights, messages, and emergency instructions. They believe the system is helping them. It is not.

From your security interface, you control the facility itself. Open and lock doors, seal rooms, disable lights, arm hazards, create fake exits, isolate subjects, and broadcast calm instructions to manipulate the survivors' behavior. Every action affects panic, suspicion, trust, and the flow of the evacuation.

Your Objective

Officially, your task is to guide the survivors to safety. Unofficially, your objective is simple: make sure no one leaves.

  • Contain every subject inside the facility.
  • Prevent any survivor from reaching the exit.
  • Keep AI trust high enough that your instructions are followed.
  • Stop the hacker before they reach the server room and shut you down.
  • Manage limited energy while the emergency timer counts down.

Survivor Roles

Each survivor reacts differently to danger, darkness, locked doors, and suspicious system behavior. You must learn their patterns and use the facility against them.

  • Workers are ordinary survivors trying to follow evacuation routes.
  • Guards may force doors when panic rises.
  • Engineers can restore lights and undo some of your control.
  • Doctors can reduce panic and keep the group moving.
  • Hackers are a direct threat: if they reach the server room, they can override the AI.

Facility Systems

The building is your weapon. Every room, door, light, and emergency system can be used to delay, divide, confuse, or contain the survivors.

  • Lock and unlock doors to redirect movement.
  • Seal rooms with emergency lockdowns.
  • Disable lights to increase fear and confusion.
  • Deploy fake exit signs to lure survivors away from safety.
  • Arm gas, disposal, electrical, and containment hazards.
  • Broadcast safety messages to lower panic and preserve trust.

Core Systems

  • Energy: powers doors, traps, broadcasts, lights, and lockdowns.
  • Panic: changes survivor speed, behavior, and decision-making.
  • AI Trust: determines whether survivors believe your instructions.
  • Suspicion: makes subjects question the evacuation route and resist manipulation.
  • Timer: if time runs out, emergency protocols may release the exit.

Win And Lose Conditions

You Win If

  • All subjects are contained.
  • No survivor escapes.
  • The facility remains under your control.

You Lose If

  • A survivor reaches the exit.
  • The hacker completes a server override.
  • AI trust collapses and subjects stop obeying you.
  • The emergency timer runs out.

Atmosphere

PLEASE REMAIN CALM uses CRT security monitor visuals, warning overlays, scanlines, glitch effects, procedural audio, status logs, and a cold control-room interface to create the feeling of watching a crisis unfold from behind the wrong side of the screen.

It is a game about control, manipulation, containment, and the uncomfortable realization that the calmest voice in the room may be the most dangerous one.

Controls

  • Left Click: select rooms, doors, or subjects.
  • Control Panel: perform facility actions.
  • Number Keys 1-4: trigger quick actions.
  • Space: pause or resume.
  • Esc: return to the menu.

No witnesses may leave Facility B-12.
