Breaking4Walls
A downloadable game for Windows
BREAKING 4 WALLS
BREAKING 4 WALLS is an endless terminal horror-puzzle game about rooms, false endings, hidden files, strange items, encrypted traces, and a system that slowly stops pretending it is only a game.
You wake inside a procedural maze of offices, archives, basements, server rooms, service doors, broken elevators, and places that feel like they were loaded from a damaged memory. Every move changes the structure. Every choice leaves a mark.
What you do
- Explore endless procedurally generated rooms.
- Find items and combine them into new tools.
- Use terminals to create encrypted artifact files.
- Search your own game folder for clues.
- Decode ciphers manually.
- Collect lore fragments hidden in files.
- Trigger false endings that reveal small pieces of the truth.
- Search for the hidden true ending.
Features
- Endless rooms: the maze does not simply repeat.
- 50 items: strange objects, tools, keys, notes, tapes, badges, and more.
- Inventory combinations: some items can unlock new effects when combined.
- 10 room types: archive, server, basement, dream, error, mirror, storage, and more.
- 10 cipher types: Base64, ROT13, Caesar, HEX, Binary, reverse, XOR-HEX, Vigenere, Morse, and Polybius.
- False endings: endings that are not really endings.
- Hidden files: artifacts and lore are created only after you reach certain events.
- Secret terminal codes: some commands change the rules.
- Windows sounds: terminal beeps, item feedback, errors, and endings.
The files are part of the game
This is not only a terminal game. The game creates files while you play.
Terminals leave encrypted traces inside the artifacts folder.
Lore fragments appear inside lore_fragments.
Some answers are not shown directly on screen. You must search, read, compare, decode, and notice what the system tries to hide.
Lore system
Every lore fragment contains a small hidden mark. If you collect enough of them, sort the pieces correctly, and decode the result, you may find something that was never written as a normal instruction.
The first wall was built from postponed decisions.
